Our parents were forever running us into Berwick- the big town 3 miles down the hill, so eventually we moved into Berwick, which was a village like town 26 miles or 42km out of Melbourne. In those days there were cow paddocks and market gardens in between the other towns on the way out to Berwick. Now it has all been carved up for housing and it is one of the fastest growing corridors in Melbourne. Berwick has still managed to retain it's village like atmosphere.
