Family Dinner

We had dinner with Simon and Bindi on Sunday night. Jack got scared by the party poppers so Mia looked after him for us. I also have photos of Mia with her pet slater bugs, Bob and Stephanie. Mia was training them to climb up a brick and go through an obstacle course, most impressive!

Amy and our Dogs

Would you believe the rule is supposed to be no dogs on the couch!

Bike Crits

Bill and I race with the ACT Veteran's Cycling Group and during daylight savings they hold bike criteriums each Tuesday night at the Stromlo Forest Park Criterium Circuit. This for the first time I should be able to make it regularly each Tuesday night. The first Tuesday night the circuit was wet from a shower of rain and it was my first race for about 3 months- I barely lasted a lap before I was dropped! The last two weeks I have managed to stay with the main bunch up to the final sprint which is much better! It is a great facility and the crits are always interesting to watch. Bill is in D Grade and I am in F Grade. Currently our grade races for about 20 minutes- they are short but intense and I always come home tired. Last week we averaged 34.5kmph.

Bush Dance and Busy Weekend

Bill and I went to a Bush Dance at my church on Friday night, I wasn't real keen about going, but Bill was keen to go, so we went along and had a great time. Lot of kids and families having a fun time. We did lots of dancing- Strip the Willow, Queensland Back Step, Heel and Toe Polka, Chicken Dance, Barn Dance to name a few. They had a BBQ dinner and some yummy deserts. It was a fun night, but two days later I have sore calf muscles!

Saturday morning Bill and I went for a ride around Lake Burley Griffin- 72 km in all. It was a clear but cool morning and the Lake was lovely with all the green grass and spring blossoms. We saw numerous duck and swan families enjoying the weather! It is a lovely ride around the lake and makes me appreciate what a great city we live in. We rode in along the Molonglo river and they have cleared out all the willow trees- had not realised what a big river it was. With the willows cleared it certainly makes a lovely vista. I must take my camera for some photos next time.

Went to General Conference at Lyneham Chapel on Sunday and went to Simon and Bindi's afterwards for lunch and had a lovely time catching up with them all. So it has been a busy but lovely weekend.

Lachlan the 'lectrician

Lachlan's uniform arrived this week so I snapped a quick photo while he was trying it on. I will have to try and get a photo of him with his hard hat on with the headlamp and when he is carrying all his tools. I think that is why he became a tradie, so he could buy tools and carry them around with him.
I also have a photo of his new car a 2001 WRX Subaru- whatever that is, in my words a sporty blue car! It was too hard to carry around the tools on the motor bike, so he had to buy a car. More expensive to run a car but I must admit I am glad he is not on the bike so much, even if half our garage is taken up by his tools and his motorbikes!

Floriade

Amy and I went to Floriade today, we meet up with Simon, Bindi, Mia and Charlie. We had a lovely time wandering through the tulips and the market stalls.

Struggling to Find Photos

Have been home for two weeks now and it has been a bit hard to get the motivation to update my blog, there were a lot more photo opportunities in Europe! Here is a photo of my greenhouse I have planted out some seeds hoping they will turn into seedlings for my garden. Also a photo of Charlie when the came over for dinner last week.

Leftovers from Europe Holiday

Here is a photo of Bill with one of the mounted horse guards near Whitehall. The other photo is of Bill the night after we got home. I had gone to bed and Amy took this photo of Bill, he had fallen asleep kneeling down at the couch with the dogs, evidently he fell asleep for about 30 minutes!
