Corbie Abbey

Bill's grandfather Eric Frost had taken a photo of the Corbie Abbey in 1918, before it was shelled, after it was shelled and a shot of the interior when it was damaged. We went to the tourist centre and showed the lady there some of the photos and she was very excited. She arranged for us to come back and she took took us up into the Abbey and we were able to take some photos of the inside as well. Quit often during our week in the Somme we were able to see the Corbie Abbey it was quite a landmark. It was originally just for the monks only and they had lots of money as they built themselves a fancy gate to get into the church
