We then spent the rest of the afternoon visiting a village at Juifen where we wandered down the old street and tasted some of the local wares. We had pineapple cake, dried shrimp flakes, basil seeds, shrimp balls, blueberry juice, an ice cream burrito type desert- very yummy, brought a few trinkets and had great fun.
Then it was off to visit the Golden Waterfall, the Ying Yang See, Nanya rocks, then into Keelung to a park overlooking the habour before visiting some night markets and getting some dinner before two weary but happy travellers returned to their hotel room. It was a great day and we found the Taiwanese so friendly, helpful and honest.
