We saw 800 year old Rimu trees with 400 year old Ratu vines on them- quite breathtaking, we saw turquoise coloured water, more stunning views. That night we stayed at Mahana Lodge and enjoyed a lovely three course meal with most of the fruit and vegetables from the owners garden- he was a retired botanist. Bill had the chicken pie and I had venison rissoles.
