Today we headed out the back roads to the delightful town of Litiz, it was a very pretty town with plenty of lovely buildings and shops to explore
We then drove back to Intercourse via a few more covered bridges,
and one of the one teacher Amish schools in the area.
The country side is so green
We had a bit of rest back at the hotel before heading into Lancaster where we had dinner, then went to the Fulton Theatre to see Anastasia the Musical. We had cheap tickets so were right up the top, we had a good view and the show was great . The theatre was old and very pretty.
The next day we headed up to Welsh Mountain Preserve to do some trail walking, more back roads taking us up into woodland areas. Poor Bindi was sure she was going to get shot when she saw the sign about wearing orange so the hunters could see you.
I managed to coax her into the forest, it didn't help that you could hear guns going off but it was from the other side of the road, I was pretty sure there were no hunters where we were.
Then we discovered September Farm which was just delightful, lots of yummy looking treats and food that wasn't highly processed. Lots of Amish women working there, we sat out on the veranda and enjoyed our treats.
There was a group of Amish school children sitting out under a big tree, they would come in, in small groups with their teacher to get an ice-cream and would walk past us. It was very pleasant sitting out there enjoying the lovely spring day.
I love that there was parking for buggies
We then headed to the Li'l Old County Store and Miniature Horse Farm.
The washing hanging on the line! I had an ice cream and Bindi had a root beer float.
Then we headed back to our hotel, went for a walk to some of the local shops.
That night we went to the Bird in the Hand Theatre to watch an Amish cosy mystery stage show. It as quirky and fun- The Rise and Fall of Miss Fannie's Biscuits.
Had a great time in Amish Country
