Time to move hotels, we packed up our bags after 3 nights in Rochester, boarded the bus and headed to Niagara Falls State Park. It was a couple of hours drive, with Hank Smith teaching and entertaining us along the way.
Today we visited Niagara Falls State Park- it is hard to convey, let alone comprehend the power of the water that comes over the Niagara Falls. According to one of the signs we saw the summer flow rate is 2.5000,000 litres a second coming over the falls.
We took a ride on the Maid of the Mist which took us up to the America Falls and then the Horseshoe Falls, which were just incredible. We donned our very attractive Blue Ponchos to help us keep somewhat dry.
I did hear one of the information officers say that once we were on the river we were in international waters, so I am now claiming I have been to Canada!

The Niagara River- very wide
Walking towards the Falls
Up stream from the falls- time to bail out of your boat if you have come this far, before it is too late.

That's where we will be shortly

Our ticket that we had to surrender
We had to take an elevator to get down to the boat
View down stream of the falls
We have our ponchos on ready to go!
The boats on the Canadian side
This is Doug Deardon who was on our tour, we had been chatting to him on the boat, he told us that he had a companion on his mission from Australia, couldn't remember what city he was from, when we asked what his name was he told us it was an Elder Mamouney. Turns out he was my brother Kim's trainer in Oklahoma. Bindi and I both couldn't believe it, what a small world. I have put Kim in contact with Doug.
Here we all are in in our blue ponchos
The America Falls
We were just a little bit damp, but it was worth it
After the boat trip we had time to walk around the park and see the falls from different views
We got to enjoy a Niagara Delight ice-cream- it was pretty good!
This is Bindi, with Leah one of our tour friends. She was from Hawaii, turns out she had served her mission with Bindi's cousin at Temple Square.
Then it was time to board the bus and head to our next hotel on our tour, which was at Mentor in Ohio.
