Christmas 2021

As usual we stayed in Canberra for Christmas, with the birds and the dogs it is too difficult to go away, The week before Christmas, Bindi hosted some friends and their daughters and Amy and I at her place for a gingerbread house decorating night. We had a lovely evening and there was lots of sugar consumed, lots of talking and laughing. When we arrived Bindi had the little houses all set up, lollies and icing for everyone it was time to decorate! Some of the various creations are below.

We had brought a ham at Costco and Amy decided we should have a go at glazing and baking which we  had never done before. We were surprised at how relatively easy it was, just time consuming and it tasted wonderful- definitely will do again.

We had Christmas lunch at Bindi's on Christmas Day with another family. I forgot to take any photos, the house and table were beautifully decorated, we had a lovely day. I did get a photo of the the pavlova for dessert.

And one photo of Amy giving Charlie a hug- just to annoy him!

This year with the macaws out in the aviary and the granny flat, and with some new furniture we were able to decorate- no big birds to knock them over, chew them up or mess them up. Was nice to get a bit Christmassy.

I made Christmas puddings on New Years Day and we headed over to the Scott's house where we gathered with some other families and we introduced them to the tradition of Christmas Pudding, coins and treats, it was a fun night- but forgot to take photos!
