Le Treport and Caen Memorial

We left Saint Valery Sur Somme and headed to Le Treport where we caught a funicular down into the town and went for a wander around the town. It was a lovely seaside town, we enjoyed our wander through the streets and looking at some of the shops.

We parked at the top of the cliffs and caught a funicular down

We were pretty impressed by these cliffs

The beach was very rocky and they had the cute little baths houses along the beach

More beach and bathing houses

  1. The free funicular we caught

Another view of the town from up the top of the cliffs

The Caen Memorial which set out the history of World War 2. There was also a section on the Battle of Normandy. It was good background as we are heading out on a tour of some of the WW2 areas when we are staying in Bayeux.
