Visit to Emergency Department

If you look closely at the back of the photo you can see one of Bill's birds resting up on top of the air conditioner- well Bill decided to clean up the top of the air conditioner this morning but decided to stand on the stool in his socks  and ended  up falling off the stool at some point and banged his lip on the edge of the stool. One look at the cut after several minutes of resting I knew we needed to take him off for some medical attention, as there was quite a long cut above his lip. We tried the Walk In Nurses Clinic at Tuggeranong, they were quick to see him but were unable to stitch it as it had gone into the upper part of his lip which meant it needed to be stitched by a doctor- that meant a visit to the Emergency Department. We didn’t have to wait long we probably saw a doctor within a half an hour. They were very good, they were going to stitch him up, did say for cosmetic considerations they could organise a plastic surgeon but that could take a day or so, so reluctantly Bill decided to give up his modelling career (ha ha) and go for the quick and easy solution. They said they did it all the time and for a lot of inconvenience there would not be a huge amount to gain. Quite a bit of local anaesthetic and 4 stitches, a tetanus shot and a couple of hours we were on our way home. We were very lucky and didn’t even have to give Bill a lecture about standing on stools with socks on- he worked out the stupidity of that himself and we took it as a wake up call to be a bit more careful when we take on task like this!
