A Day on a Bike

We had nothing better to do on Saturday so with 6 others Bill and I headed off from Canberra at 6am and rode to Goulbourn, Gunning and back to Canberra. It took us all day and we covered 226km. We managed to fit in three coffee shops- one at Grandma's Little Bakery at Collector over looking the olive fields- it was a delightful stop and some yummy food. Next we stopped at the Greengrocer Cafe at Goulbourn- which is a cafe, cycling shop and greengrocers all in one! Then we battled the headwinds out of Goulbourn and made our way to Gunning to refuel at the Old Hume Cafe. It started to rain so we rode through light showers for about 30 minutes and then after Gundaroo had dry roads again. We were lucky with the weather, not too hot and a great day out! Bit weary today but was quite an accomplishment- my highest single day ride ever.
