Last Day on the Somme

On our last day in France we went back to a few places and chased up a few loose ends. We went back to Corbie and found the location of a bridge that Eric had photographed and we also found the location of a chateau that Eric was based at for several weeks. We found out it had been destroyed during the war and latter rebuilt on the same location. The owner was out the front watering his garden, he could not understand English, but with me jumping up and down like a kangaroo, he worked out we were Australians, and then Bill with his schoolboy French worked out he was telling us it had gone kaboom in the Great War!
