Tyne Cot Cemetery

Next we went to Tyne Cot Cemetery, the largest war cemetery, quite stunning.

Flanders

We picked up our hire car in Brussels and we got an up grade a brand new Skoda with an inbuilt GPS- awesome! We found our way out of the city and got to our B&B just out of Iepers. First port of call was the Passchendale Memorial Museum and Park at Zonnebeke. It was an excellent museum and gave an excellent portrayal of the dug outs.

The picture of Bill is in a pill box and the church was practically destroyed and rebuilt in 1921.

Buildings in Brussels

We only had an afternoon in Brussels but managed to see a fair bit just wandering around the city. It was an easy city to negotiate and wherever you went there was some pretty stunning building.

Food Shops in Brussels

We caught the train to Brussels and went for a wander. The chocolate shop windows and other food shops are pretty amazing!

Amsterdam Houses And Anne Frank House

The houses in Amsterdam are quite something, some very narrow and some crooked and with quite a lean. The lat two photos are of The Anne Frank House

Bike Ride in Amsterdam

It was a great way to see Amsterdam and the bikes were easy to ride. We visited a cheese and clog factory, rode on reclaimed land, through the forests and parks, along the canals, it was a great day.

Bikes in Amsterdam

There are all manner of bikes in Amsterdam and as I was warned they are everywhere. Back home everyone thinks I am eccentric riding my bike with a basket to work but I would fit in very well here! We did a 4 hour bike ride out in the country side with our tour guide Mike- she was awesome and we had a great day.
