The months have flown by and I have neglected my journal so time for a bit of a catch up!
In May I headed down to Melbourne for a few days to catch up with my mum, we took a trip to the west side of the city and discovered a few places we had never been. Mum wanted to check out the Maribyrnong River, so we did. We stayed in an apartment overlooking the river and it was a lovely spot. The river has lots of bike and walking trails, playgrounds and cafes near where we were staying. Mum managed to do the 4km circuit using her walker.
There were some huge houses along the river, including this place which had a mother and baby giraffe in their yard.
The obligatory selfie at the top of the pedestrian bridge
The next day we discovered Moonee Ponds and Brunetti's café, where we were dazzled by the array of cakes of which we needed to sample a few.
Later that afternoon we headed down to Melton where we went to my brother Gary's warehouse. Mum had been wanting to see it for a while, we were not there for long before she had gone into sales mode and was talking customers into buying things.
Meanwhile back home Bill has put in this perch that the birds love, they can see right into the kitchen window. Any time you are there they have to come over and see what is happening.
On Mother's Day Bill and I went into the National Film and Sound Archive and checked out the Temple Exhibition that had some amazing videos of parrots.
