Berry, Kiama, and Minnamurra Rainforest

Today the Tuesday Girls headed north. First stop was the The Treat Factory in Berry. Jams, chutney, chocolates, sauces, spices- all sorts of treats!

Deb and I had a yummy hot chocolate from the Dairy Bar and Kerrie had a turmeric latte. We then headed into the centre of Berry to check out the shops.

At the top of the street was a lovely park with a pretty gazebo.
Berry was beautifully kept with many lovely old buildings and plenty of shops to explore.

We then headed further north to Kiama, the countryside was just so green.  Kiama was 1 hour from Culburra Beach, we were in a good central spot to explore parts of the south coast.

We made it to the Blow Hole at Kiama, as you can see the Blowhole was not blowing, but it was still such a good view of the coastline.

Next we headed inland about 20 minutes to the Minnamurra Rainforest Centre. Deb and I headed off on the Waterfall Walk up to the falls, while Kerrie headed out on the Lyrebird Walk. The walk to the falls was uphill most of the way and rather steep. We set off at 3pm just as it started to rain, at least it was warm and the rain not to heavy. We passed people coming down, but we pretty much had the walk to ourselves. It was such a pretty walk through the rainforest- we decided we were "forest bathing" definitely good for the soul.

One of the two suspension bridges, however one had been partially swept away from heavy rain last year so was closed.

Deb and I made it to the falls- definitely worth the walk.

We were a little damp!

On the way back down we spotted 5 lyrebird hens out scratching on the forest floor. Later as we left the car park we spotted a male lyrebird with his fancy tail.

We then headed to Bombo on the coast to see Cathedral Rocks before heading back to Culburra Beach. We were pretty tired, it had been a long day, but well worth it.
