Culture

Last weekend Bill, Amy and I went to the "History of the World in 100 Objects" at the National Museum. It was an exhibition from the British Museum, which ironically Bill and I had visited in September this year, and a couple of the objects we looked for were "on loan" turns out we had to go to Canberra to see them!

Mr and Mrs James- Wedding Event of the Year

Last weekend the whole family traveled to Sydney for Chris and Siobhan's wedding. Chris is the oldest son of Bill's cousin Jocelyn and our kids have grown up together they are really close so it was a lovely, happy family occasion. We had such a lovely time that I forgot to take many photos, I had hoped to get a family photo of us all dressed up but completely forgot!

Amy and Lachlan drove up on the Friday and stayed with Jos and Steve and they all went out to dinner with the groomsman. Bill and I drove up Saturday morning and went straight to the church at Wentworthville. The wedding ceremony was at 2pm and then the reception was at the RACV Club in the city. We drove into Sydney and checked into our hotel and had the chance to have a bit of a break before heading off the reception.

The reception was lovely, food terrific and even the speeches were great- they all did a fantastic job and lots of fun and laughter. There were a few tears as we remembered Alex, Chris's younger brother who died just 12 months ago. The following morning we had breakfast with Jos and Steve, Mary and Hilary and Stuart, and Thela- so it was a lovely family time. We headed back to Canberra Sunday afternoon after a very enjoyable weekend!

Here are Chris and Siobhan coming coming back down the aisle

Lachlan was one of the groomsman - he scrubbed up pretty well I thought!

Luna

Luna loves to eat vegetables, she loves the broccoli stalks, she raids the garden and eats the corn and cucumber and this year has discovered the snow peas in my garden. She also finds the snow peas a comfortable place to snooze!

Melbourne

Last week Amy and I had to travel down to Melbourne for a couple of appointments, the drive down was lovely as the countryside is so lovely and green.

We stayed with my mum and as she had just had her birthday so we took her out to dinner at a tapas restaurant in Berwick, was nice to be able to walk down.

The next day after our appointment we headed back to Canberra and stayed overnight at a B&B in Millawa.

We had a lovely overnight stay the weather was perfect and we had dinner and breakfast delivered to our room. The food was excellent. We checked out the Millawa Mustard shop before hitting the road to Canberra.

Goodbye

After nearly 15 years of keeping chooks I decided that all the work involved in keeping chooks outweighed the lovely eggs we would get from them - I must be getting old. I have been approaching this point for a few years now. So on Friday morning I bundled up my chooks and took them around to my friend Colleen who was happy to take them. They seemed to settle in and looks like they will be very happy and comfortable there!

So when I swept the path on Saturday it has stayed nice and clean! Will be good to see if I can get some plants to grow!

Water

On the way back from Sydney we had to stop with all the other tourists and take a photo of Lake George with some water in it. It is about 3/4's full. We have lived in Canberra for 22 years, when we first moved here it had water for about three or four years, my kids don't remember it with water so Amy got a real surprise when she saw it.

Sydney

Last Weekend Amy and I travelled up to Sydney for a Bridal Shower. Hadn't been to one for decades, they were just like the older ones but on a grander scale, we had lots of fun and lovely to stay with Jos and Steve.
