December Catch Up

Life for the last few weeks.
I recently brought myself a smoker and have had a go at smoking chicken breasts- they turned out pretty well and made a good smoked chicken salad.

Another time I went and picked up Kelly and she came over to meet the birds and dogs- they all had a great time. Amy and Kelly plotted about all the animal encounters around Canberra they could do.

A while ago I donated to a kick starter for the Little Luxton project. On of the locals is trying to set up a neighbour coffee shop at the Gordon Community Centre. They had a thank you party recently so Amy and I went down with Beau- he was a great hit!

They had a nice spread for us to enjoy, I had a yummy hot chocolate and Amy enjoyed a coffee which she said was very good. It was nice sitting around and chatting to some of the locals, it would be great to have some sort of permanent cafe in Gordon.

My minimal effort for Christmas decorating this year.

Amy dragged me off to the National Museum for a special event they were having. Amy wanted to go because they had the therapy alpacas there- this was Giraffe- I must admit he was very cute. They also had a Guide Dog Puppy Training Demonstration- someone was in her element.

Amy had her birthday and I got a friend who has been crocheting animals to make a pair of eclectus parrots for Amy. they were so amazing. They were a big hit with Amy, but as you can see the macaws were also fascinated with them.

Luna loved them as well, she has a fascination with soft toys but quickly realized these ones were special and she was not going to be allowed any where near them, so then made sure that the macaws knew they were not to touch them as well.

Here are the real things with the toys- she has done an amazing job.
