Bright Alpine Classic
Yet again Bill and I headed down to Bright with friends for the Alpine Classic. This year because of bush fires near Harrietville roads were closed and a number of rides were re routed. Instead of going to Falls Creek we had to do two climbs of Mount Buffalo each climb is about 25 km of climbing with only a 2 km stretch of flat near the top. The first ride up was cool and actually quite pleasant but after returning to bright and heading back again things had warmed up and it was a much tougher climb second time around, but we finished with a smile and as usual the post ride BBQ back at the hotel was great!

Hot, Hot, Hot!
Not a whole lot to report this week and no photos of any great interest! We have had some hot weather this week Lachlan had to watch concrete being poured in 37 degree heat to make sure that none of the conduit they put in was broken! Then had to work the next day in the 42 degree heat! He did not have much sympathy for Amy who was complaining about getting the boring apprentice jobs- she spent two days sorting out cables- but at least she was in the air conditioned basement of Parliament House when it was 42 degrees outside. Bill has gone back to work after 4 weeks off, and I ended up discovering what super model botox lips looked like for only the cost of a chapstick! I reacted badly to applying chapstick on my lips ( no photos) they were very sore for a day, and are still dry and uncomfortable, but at least I can be seen in public!

Laduree Macaroon Shop
Walking through Westfield Sydney discovered the Laduree shop which is a famous Macaroon shop on the Champs-élysées so of course I had to buy one! Even got served by a yummy French gentleman!
Bill and I head to Sydney
Bill and I headed up to Sydney for a short break. We stayed with Bill's 90 year old aunt one night and showed her our photos of Europe. It was her father who had been in WW1 that we followed in our September trip. The next day we headed into Sydney where we stayed at the Westin in Martin Place( a great deal we picked up on Wotif as a mystery hotel). We went to see the Alexander the Great exhibition at the Australia Museum. We did not do much else as it was 43 degrees in Sydney that day, but had a lovely time away.
Alexander's Pizza
We had a visit from Bill's Sydney cousin Jocelyn and her husband Steve. They also brought Alexander down with them and left him behind with us for a few days. Alex and Amy went off to see the Toulouse-Lautrec exhibition at the Art Gallery. Saturday night we put Amy and Alex to work cooking dinner and we ended up with yummy gourmet pizzas. We also took a drive up to Telstra Tower and enjoyed the view from there.
