Water In Lake George
On the way back from Sydney I just had to stop and take a photo of Lake George. I think it is the first time in about 14 or 15 years that it has water in it. We didn't know if we should show Lachlan the photo- as the last time he drove past it when there was water up to the road, he and Bill stopped by the side of the road and threw stones into the water, he was fascinated by the dead sheep lying around and he wouldn't get back in the car to come home. When he was eventually persuaded he needed to hop in the car and come home, he announced that for his 5th birthday he wanted a " Dead Sheep Cake"!
Amy and Natasha
On Friday I drove Amy and Natasha up to Sydney for a church dance for the 16 and 17 year olds in Sydney. The girls had a good time, Amy had a bit of difficulty coping with having to put on a dress, but she survived. Amy and I stayed the night in Miranda and then had to drive home the next morning as she had to be home in time to play in her netball final.

The Footy and the Greyhounds
While I was in Warnambool I went to the Greyhounds- that was a first! My friend's son has a job filming the greyhounds on Saturday night, so we went to pick him up and went early so we could watch the last couple of races. Not normally something I would think of doing, but it was fun watching those crazy dogs going around chasing that rabbit!
The other trip down memory lane, was going to the country football match. All the cars park around the oval, and honk their horns when someone scores a goal. Not something you see in NSW because they play on rectangular fields. The netball girls where also there and you could buy a pie and sauce, but decided to pass on that option!
Trip to Warnambool
Last weekend I flew down to Melbourne, caught the Skybus into town, then caught the train to Warnambool, 3 hours south west of Melbourne and spent the weekend with a girlfriend and her family. Kerrie and I had gone through Teachers College together and it was about 12 years since we have seen each other. Had a wonderful time in Warnambool, enjoyed walking along the beach in winter, lots of talking, lots of eating, discovered a wonderful cafe called Rebecca's Cafe in Pt Fairy that had so many beautiful cakes and slices- I need to go back again so I can sample some more! Went to a sound and light show on the ship wreck of the Lochard that came aground near Pt Campbell.

Amy and her Dogs
Amy has made her bed almost every day since she got her new bed,and she has had it for over a month, and I don't even need to ask her! It is a double bed so it takes up more room and therefore there seems to be less space to make the room messy! The dogs also love her new bed and if we can't find them it is usually a good guess where they will be!
New Fashion in Eye Wear
Went out for dinner this week with some of the girls from the cycling club, we had a lovely meal and a great time. Barb had just got back from Europe and brought back a flashing pair of glasses which she brought along to show us. We had a great laugh trying them on! Thought they might be a useful distraction in a cycling race!
What is the Weather Forecast for Today?
For the last week I keep getting that question asked each night and each morning by Lachlan. Now that he is the proud owner of a motor bike and rides it to university each day, he keeps asking that question as he is trying to work out what to wear. Bill and I frequently watch the weather being bike riders, so now we have Lachlan joining in! I have decided from now on when he asks me that question, I will answer that it is about to start raining, hailing and snowing at any minute and I would not recommend riding in today. I wonder if that will work!
