Well here we are in Paris- we have done all the touristy things and have had a wonderful time. We have done lots of walking, lots of eating, lots of train travel. We had one day where we caught the
Batobus which was a boat that took us up the Seine, we got of at the
Eiffel tower- took one look at the queue to get up the tower and decided it wasn't really worth the wait! The previous day we had been up the Arc De
Triomph and got wonderful views so decided we had already had a good view of city.
We were staying just a 5 minute walk from the
Notre Dame- the inside was incredible, bit weird to be walking through while there was a service going on! For our first breakfast in Paris we brought some raspberries from the local market at the end of our street and a filled
baguette and a
nutella pannini and sat down by a park between the
Notre Dame and the Seine and ate our breakfast - it was very yummy! Then we headed to the
Louvre and saw lots of
Greek statues, saw the Mona Lisa and lots of other stuff!
Some of the stained glass windows in the Saint
Chapelle chapel which we saw on our first day in Paris - we saw amazing stained glass windows there as well as a number of other places.
Amy, Sue and Deb - our first day in Paris was the last day of Deb and Steve-parents of one of Amy's friends who were also holidaying in Paris so we met up with them and spent a couple of hours wandering around Paris with them as well sitting in cafe watching the world go by. Around 5:30pm Amy and I started to flag, we stopped for dinner at a little
restaurant then staggered home to bed- it had been a long day after our flight from Singapore, so we hit the sack about 8pm and slept for about 10 hours and ready to go for our next day!
