We Won't Win Prizes For Our Carrots!

Dug up our carrots and beetroot this week- don't think one of our carrots looked at all normal. Not sure what we did or didn't do, but to me they are the most deformed bunch of carrots I have ever seen! We thought they must have struck something in the soil, but when we turned over the soil there were no lumps of concrete or rocks - so who knows! It should be fun trying to peel them!

Motor Bike

Well it has finally happened. He has saved up his dollars, found a motorbike, taken a friend over to check it out, taken it for a pre purchase inspection, and bought the bike! He came home on Wednesday with a big grin on his face - he was now the proud owner of a motor bike. It is a Suzuki Across, 250cc, has some other numbers, but I have forgotten those already.

He hadn't actually take it for a test ride, he had to get his friend to do that as he had his licence, Lachlan has only just got his L's having done the course in April, but hadn't ridden a bike since then. He took it out for his first ride on Wednesday, so I took some photos to post on the blog. When he got back you could just see the look of pure pleasure and excitement in his voice- it was obviously an exhilarating experience. And there I was hoping that it wouldn't be as fun as he thought it would be and give it up- in my dreams!

Kids Never Change!

I went outside one morning this week, to discover Amy leaving a message in the frost on the car for her brother! By the time he left for uni that morning however, the sun had risen and melted away the message, good thing I got the evidence.

First Week Back at School and Uni

No photos this week! Nothing too exciting to report on. Amy is back at school - she has dropped Photography and taken up History and is doing American History and is really enjoying the classes so far. She had to choose a new English Unit so had chosen Myths and Legends but after two classes swapped out of that into Issues because the first English teacher was not doing any discussing - just had them doing worksheets, and Amy loves to talk- so she found an English class where there was lots of discussion and now she is happy! So we have her all sorted out - for one week anyway!

Lachlan is back at uni and has his classes all sorted - Physics, Politics, Psychology and Linguistics. He has also purchased a motor bike this week -doesn't pick it up till this coming week, so then I guess I start worrying and praying hard! All of a sudden those things you used to worry about when they were little don't seem worth the energy you used up, now the things to worry about seem a whole lot more complicated!

Beware of the Deformed Carrot!

Well things must be pretty desperate in the Frost household if the only photo I can have on my blog is a deformed carrot! I picked my first carrot - it was pretty thick but certainly grew in a funny way! I thought it was worth featuring on my blog!

We did have a fire on Monday night with the East Family but I was too busy converting their children to pyromania to take photos! We introduced them to the art of sugar and flour throwing, 101 uses for sparklers in a fire- I am sure fires will never be the same again for them. It was great to see the look of delight on these children's faces!

Amy had two driving lessons but wouldn't allow me to go along as a photographer in the back seat- I am sure I could take some interesting photos and not allow the truth to get in the way of a good story!

We also had 4 teenagers stay overnight to watch movies and they stayed up till 4am- but I had gone to bed way before them and I had gone to work before they emerged from their slumber! Oh yes we also had to survive four days without Internet or phone lines - now that was an interesting experience!

More Photos from Lachlan's Fire Party

Just a few more photos from Lachlan's fire party with his mates last week- the love of fire never seems to disappear from big boys or little boys!

Galahs and Roselas

We have had a few visitors in our garden this week, it is lovely to look out the window and see them eating the bird seed!

Not too much happened this week so I have been searching around for a photo for my blog. Bill and I did celebrate our 22nd wedding anniversary by going out to dinner and having a lovely Indian meal but I didn't take a photo. I also won my bike race on Saturday but forgot to set a camera up at the finish line to take a photo because it is rather a rare event!

News Flash- Amy made her bed without being asked!

We bought Amy a new bed this week - this was a reward for getting the go head to come off her anti-depressants -something we have been working on for a while. So we found her a new bed, it got delivered this weekend, Amy and Benji are very happy with her new bed as you can see! This morning was the first time she has made her bed without me saying anything in a long time- I wonder how long that will last!

A Touch of Europe in Fyshwick

We have a lovely bakery out at Fyshwick called "The Flute". I try and avoid going there too often as it is a bit too tempting. Well this week, I made a mistake- I introduced Amy to "The Flute". As you can see by the picture she did not really enjoy herself, so she will probably forget and never ask to go there again!

They sell some lovely pastries, cakes and now they have macaroons, just like we saw in Europe- Amy loves the pistachio ones!
